Job summary

Shellharbour City Council invites applications for an Apprentice Fabricator based at the Oak Flats Services Depot. You will work with experienced tradespeople on fabrication, welding, maintenance and repair tasks, while gaining hands-on experience in welding, cutting, shaping, assembling and repairing metal components to support the Council’s fleet and assets.

You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade at North Wollongong TAFE, with the opportunity for on-the-job

Qualifications

Interest in welding and fabrication
Ability to support workshop and fleet teams
Willingness to undertake on-the-job and off-the-job training (TAFE)

Responsibilities

Support the Workshop and Fleet Team.
Undertake workshop-based fabrication, maintenance, repair and modification tasks.
Learn hands-on skills in welding, cutting, shaping, assembling and repairing metal components.
Contribute to upkeep and operation of Council's fleet, plant and equipment.
