Job summary

Le Meridien in Melbourne is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to support the F&B Manager and oversee restaurant, bar and banqueting operations. This full-time role focuses on delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining service excellence.

You will lead F&B staff, ensure high food safety standards, and collaborate across departments to optimise guest satisfaction and profitability. A background in hospitality and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in food & beverage management or a supervisory role
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and relevant legislation
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and hospitality management software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with guests and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage F&B staff, including training, scheduling and performance management
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and service across outlets and events
• Monitor food safety, hygiene and health regulations compliance
• Assist in inventory, stock control and ordering of F&B supplies
• Support planning and execution of events, banquets and private functions
• Ensure exceptional customer service and address guest complaints promptly
• Assist with strategies to optimise profitability and manage costs
• Collaborate with housekeeping and reception for seamless guest experiences
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across F&B areas
