Job summary

Westfund Eye Care Centre in Mackay is seeking a full‑time Optical Dispenser/Assistant to deliver exceptional eye care and member service. This 35‑hour week includes five weeks of annual leave and staff benefits, with a friendly team and patient‑focused culture.

You will assist members with eye care needs, interpret prescriptions, dispense eyewear, help selection of frames and lenses, coordinate appointments, and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing or experience as an Optical Dispenser.
• Experience in optical, retail or pharmacy environments.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Empathy, initiative and professionalism.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assistance to members with eye care needs in a personalised way.
• Interpret prescriptions and dispense eyewear solutions.
• Assist members with selecting frames, lenses, contacts, sunglasses and accessories.
• Coordinate appointments and maintain booking records.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and build relationships.
