  • Provide evidence-based recommendations on clearance outcomes.
  • Apply QA controls to Personal Security Files and vetting documentation.
  • Use electronic case management systems to manage workflows and meet service delivery obligations.

EY External Security Vetting Senior Analyst
The opportunity

EY is seeking an experienced External Security Vetting Senior Analyst to support the delivery of complex Australian Government security clearance processes.

This role is ideally suited to professionals with demonstrated experience in external personnel security vetting, a current Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Vetting), and a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance. You will play a critical role in assessing security clearance cases and providing quality assurance across a range of clearance levels including Baseline, NV1, NV2 and Positive Vetting.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Analyst, you will leverage your security vetting expertise to assess complex clearance cases, conduct quality assurance activities and provide recommendations on security clearance outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Process Australian Government security clearances in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and EY best practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments across Baseline, NV1, NV2 and Positive Vetting clearance levels.
  • Manage complex vetting cases, including the assessment of sensitive or high-risk information.
  • Conduct security interviews and gather information from clearance subjects and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide sound, evidence-based advice on clearance recommendations and outcomes.
  • Apply stringent quality assurance controls to Personal Security Files (PSFs) and vetting documentation.
  • Utilise electronic case management systems to effectively manage clearance workflows and meet service delivery obligations.
Skills And Attributes For Success
  • Strong understanding of Australian Government personnel security vetting frameworks and processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to assess large volumes of information accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement in complex or sensitive vetting matters.
  • Proven quality assurance experience, ensuring compliance with PSPF requirements and organisational standards.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet SLAs.

Crucially, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below.

  • Current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance as a minimum requirement.
  • Current Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Vetting).
  • Demonstrated experience in external personnel security vetting, ideally within an Australian Government or similarly regulated high-security environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Government security clearance processes, policies and standards.
  • Experience conducting security interviews, case assessments and quality assurance activities.
