Job summary

NGARE EMPLOYMENT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a major project in the Cairns region. You will oversee construction activities from planning through to delivery, driving safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, manage risks, plans, and resource allocation, and foster a high-performance, safety-focused culture on site.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction management within civil construction, bulk earthworks, or mining.
• Proven experience leading teams and complex project delivery.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Sound understanding of contract administration, commercial management, and project controls.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Commitment to a high-performing, safety-focused workplace culture.
• Current driver licence.

Expressions of Interest - Construction Manager – Cairns Region, Queensland

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and driven Construction Managers to lead the successful delivery of a project in the Cairns region on a 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role on a significant project, overseeing construction activities from planning through to completion while driving safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes.

As Construction Manager, you will report to and work alongside the Project Manager, to provide operational leadership for the project, ensuring objectives are achieved while fostering a high-performance and safety-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction activities across the project.
• Develop and implement construction strategies, methodologies, and execution plans.
• Manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary direct team and subcontractors.
• Drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Work with the project team to plan, allocate resources, ensure productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project partners.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, commercial, and project controls teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Experience delivering large-scale earthworks, transport infrastructure, mining, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing self-perform and subcontracted workforces.
• Senior leadership experience on remote or regional projects.
• Project management certifications or professional memberships.

Location
