Job summary

Bupa in Sydney is seeking a Maintenance Officer to deliver high standards of property services across our aged care homes. You will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and asset assessments to ensure a neat, safe, and hazard-free environment for residents.

You will coordinate with the Property Services team, support WHS compliance, and participate in projects to replace assets as needed. Strong communication, problem-solving ability, and relevant trades or qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications or relevant skills training related to property maintenance.
• Experience in property maintenance and building works.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Ability to solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide repairs and maintenance support across the care home as per schedules.
• Ensure environment is neat, safe and hazard free for residents.
• Landscaping, garden maintenance and general repairs.
• Assist in asset assessment and replacement recommendations.
• Support Property Services projects and WHS compliance.

About The Role

As a Maintenance Officer you will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of property services, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

Duties

Provide repairs and maintenance support to the care home across a wide scope of activities including:

• Identify and carry out preventative maintenance, repair and improvement works to the building, grounds and equipment in-line with the Maintenance Schedules
• Ensure the physical environment for residents is in line with their preferences and is neat, comfortable, safe and hazard free
• Landscaping and garden maintenance; general repairs and waste removal
• Oversee, maintain, assess and provide recommendations on replacement of assets if, and as required
• Assist in the management of Property Services projects

• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety and Property Services Quality Assurance procedures

Skills and Experience

• Formal qualifications; and/or Relevant skills training or experience
• Experience in Property Maintenance and Building Works
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in Occupational Health and Safety
• The ability to solve problems independently
