Job summary

The Shire of Murray is seeking a casual Lifeguard to supervise patrons at the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre, ensuring water safety at all times and supporting opening/closing routines.

This role requires a current Pool Lifeguard Certificate, CPR and First Aid. Experience in an aquatic setting is desirable, with weekend rosters common across seven days of operation.

Qualifications

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate is required.
• CPR and First Aid certificates are required.
• Experience in an aquatic leisure environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise customers and ensure water safety at all times.
• Carry out daily opening and closing procedures and equipment checks.
• Assist in maintaining the facility and grounds in a clean and safe condition.
• Assist with training of other staff at the same level or at a lower level.

About the MALC The Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre has a wide range of facilities and offers an extensive range of sport, recreation and leisure programs to the general public, schools, clubs and organisations within the Shire of Murray.

The Shire of Murray is seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of lifeguard on a casual basis. Working at the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre, the successful applicant will ensure customers using the aquatic facilities are supervised at all times, and that water safety is continuously upheld. As the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre is open seven days a week, hours of work may be rostered from Monday to Sunday inclusive (including early morning and evening work).

Key Duties

• Supervise customers and ensure water safety at all times.
• Daily opening and closing procedures and equipment checks are carried out.
• Assist in maintaining the facility and grounds in a clean and safe condition.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Resuscitation and/or Provide CPR Certificate
• Provide First Aid Certificate
• Experience working in an aquatic leisure environment is desirable
