Future Swim St Peters is seeking an Experienced Swim Teacher to join our team on a casual basis at our Rouse Hill NSW facility. You will deliver engaging and effective swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities, helping them develop water confidence and safety skills.

The ideal candidate holds current Australian swimming qualifications, has proven experience teaching diverse ages, communicates well, and can work independently or with a supportive team in a professional learning

Qualifications

  • Current or recent swimming teaching qualifications recognised in Australia (AUSTSWIM or equivalent).
  • Proven experience delivering swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety protocols.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective swim lessons to students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
  • Assess students’ current abilities and create tailored lesson plans to progress skills.
  • Teach strokes including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
  • Promote water safety awareness and educate students on aquatic behaviour and safety protocols.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on progress and milestones.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and track student progress.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised teaching environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues to foster a supportive learning community.
  • Stay current with swimming instruction best practices and pursue ongoing professional development.

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Swim Teacher/Instructor to join our dynamic team on a casual basis at our Rouse Hill, NSW facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, qualified swimming professional to deliver engaging and effective swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities. As a swim instructor, you will play a vital role in developing swimmers’ skills, building their confidence in the water and instilling essential water safety practices. Your expertise and enthusiasm will directly contribute to the success and progression of our students.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and effective swim lessons to students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced swimmers
  • Assess students’ current swimming abilities and create tailored lesson plans that encourage progression and skill development
  • Teach swimming techniques including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly strokes
  • Promote water safety awareness and educate students on appropriate aquatic behaviour and safety protocols
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding progress, areas for improvement and achievement milestones
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievements
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised swimming environment
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues to create a supportive learning community
  • Stay current with swimming instruction best practices and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
What we’re looking for
  • Current or recent swimming teaching qualifications or certifications recognised in Australia (such as AUSTSWIM or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities
  • Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students
  • A patient, enthusiastic and encouraging approach to teaching
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and safe learning environment for all students
  • Flexibility to work casual hours as required
