Job summary

Structural Arts Pty Ltd on the Gold Coast is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design across a variety of projects, from small renovations to large commercial works.

You will collaborate with architects, developers and councils, applying standards with initiative and clarity. Proficiency in SpaceGass, AutoCAD, Revit and related tools, plus at least 6 years of structural design experience, are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Rights to work in Australia.

• Be eligible for CPEng or RPEQ licences.
• Hold or be eligible for Australian driver's licence.
• Hold Queensland White card.
• 6 years or more structural design experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on retail and commercial developments and multi-storey office projects.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, councils and builders.
• Provide structural analysis, design and documentation across steel, concrete, masonry, timber and aluminium.
• Support ongoing client relationships and project teams from concept through to delivery.

Job description

You’ll be part of a growing team, working to take the business to the next level.You’ll be asked to contribute to company direction and you will be expected to take initiative, be a team player and to be able to work with minimal supervision.You can make this role your own and take on management and possibly partnership in the company.

About You

You understand structural engineering intuitively – you know what a free body diagram is and you understand the term “load path”.You’ve learned the finer points of engineering design by personally digging into the codes and standards and applying them.You don’t trust spreadsheets until you verify them for yourself.You’re intelligent, diligent, rigorous and capable.

You will bring a range of capabilities and experience as we work across several industries and offer a wide variety of services.You will be able to take on small to large tasks with equal skill and enthusiasm.

You have a positive attitude and enjoy the challenge of difficult projects and structures. You have good analytical skills and strong written communication skills.You can sketch and draw and understand the need for working to scale.Your skills include structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, masonry, timber and aluminium.Experience in commercial construction and earth retaining structures is essential.

Experience in water infrastructure, mining and mineral processing and residential design is highly desirable.Australian experience is essential.

You are:

• Proficient in SpaceGass, RamConcePT, Structural Toolkit, Hyne Design
• Accustomed to using Bluebeam to markup drawings
• Skilled with spreadsheets
• Experienced with AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit.You won’t be drafting, but the ability to sketch and use the programs is important.

About the role

Our wide range of projects includes retail and commercial developments, multi storey office buildings, support for equipment in industrial and mining applications, water treatment plant structures, solar farms and solar installations, prestige homes, basic residential renovations and retaining walls.We consult to architects, developers, factory and mine operators, Councils, hospital and aged care providers, project managers and civil engineers and builders.

We work closely with all our clients.You’ll be supported and encouraged to develop strong working relationships with them.Occasionally you may need to travel to remote sites.

Dedication to our clients means we take on small tasks including residential renovations, retaining and revetment walls and condition evaluations.You\'ll be able to complete these projects while also working with larger consultant teams on other projects.
