Job summary

The Malaya in Sydney is seeking experienced section waiters to join our long-established, family-run dining team. You’ll handle a section, confidently carry 3 plates, and deliver attentive, proactive service in a fast-paced setting with RSA cert in hand.

We offer flexible rostering, full-time, part-time and casual roles, staff meals, generous tips and dining discounts, plus opportunities to grow your hospitality skills within a well-known Sydney restaurant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year hospitality experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant
• Exceptional communication skills and a proactive work ethic
• Confidence carrying 3 plates and managing a section independently
• Basic wine knowledge or an interest in learning
• A positive and engaging attitude and a genuine passion for hospitality
• Current NSW RSA certificate
• Experience with restaurant POS systems (training provided)
• Strong teamwork skills, initiative and attention to detail

The Malaya is a Sydney dining institution, proudly serving our distinctive style of Southeast Asian cuisine since 1963. As a family-run restaurant now in its third generation, we've built a reputation on great food, warm hospitality and a loyal community of guests.

Located in Grosvenor Place in the heart of Sydney CBD, we offer modern dining space, and extensive wine and cocktail offering, and professional yet relaxed approach to service.

We are fortunate to have a strong team of long-standing staff and we are looking for experience, confident and enthusiastic section waiters to join our team with an immediate start.

We have full-time, part-time and casual positions available. We offer flexibility without roster through out the week, and are happy to work with individual availability, including university schedules.

We are looking for:
