Job summary

CMX Group Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Experienced Painter to join our team in Australia. The role requires a self-motivated, English-speaking individual to paint interior and exterior commercial sites under supervision. Duties include surface preparation, painting, finishing, and safety compliance.

Minimum two years of professional painting experience and a White Card are required; a driver licence and Heights safety certification are preferred. Salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Clean equipment and work areas; manage paint splinters
• Mix paint and colour-match for projects
• Apply undercoats and finishes with brushes, rollers or spray guns
• Manage paint materials and maintain records of the work
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met at each site

Job description

CMX Group Pty Ltd is hiring a full time Experienced Painter to join our team.

We are looking for a self- motivated, English speaking, articulate person to fill the role of Painter within our company.

Your duties will include:

• Responsible for painting of interior and exterior commercial sites as directed by the project supervisor;
• Responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, including filling holes, paint stripping; sanding, repairing woodwork, removing old paint or wallpaper, sealing surfaces;
• Inspecting surfaces to be painted;
• Responsible for cleaning equipment, work areas and any splatters that may have resulted while painting;
• Prepare and apply paint, using brushes, rollers or spray guns to apply the paint to the surface;
• Apply undercoats, oil based, gloss enamel, varnish or stain, low sheen acrylic to surfaces using brushes, rollers and spraying;
• Responsible for mixing paint and colour matching for the project;
• Manage required paint materials for the project;
• Supervising the painting process, and maintaining records making sure the work meets standards;
• Responsible to ensure health and safety requirements are met at each job site;

The successful applicant will need to be a qualified tradesman painter and hold Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (desirable).

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a professional painter.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience working on a number of painting projects simultaneously, showing a commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement either within the painting trade or other areas.
