Job summary

WorkPac Group is recruiting Dump Truck Operators for Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) in the Gulf of Carpentaria. This FIFO role is from Cairns or Darwin on a 7:7 roster, with 12.25-hour day/night shifts and camp provided.

You will operate CAT 777/785/793 and other heavy mining equipment in a production environment, ensuring safety and teamwork. Applicants should have proven CAT 777 experience, 3+ machine-type experience, RII competencies, an Australian driver’s licence, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CAT 777 in a mining environment.
• Proven experience operating 3+ of the listed machines in a mining environment.
• RII competencies or equivalent tickets are required.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence is mandatory.
• Must pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening and Police clearance.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

About the Client

South32 together with WorkPac are commencing recruitment for Operators to promote the equality of its workforce at Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) in the Gulf of Carpentaria. South32 GEMCO is seeking experienced Multi-Skilled & Dump Truck operators to join our mining operations on Groote Eylandt. This is a FIFO role from Cairns or Darwin on a 7:7 roster, working 12.25-hour shifts across a day/night rotation.

What you will be doing:

Dump Truck Operator

Operating CAT 777, 785 & 793 within the mine site.

Operate multiple pieces of heavy mining equipment (listed below) in a production environment

Equipment Experience Required

• Loaders (e.g. CAT 992, 993)
• Graders (e.g. CAT 16M/24M)
• Water Carts

What you will need:

Dump Truck

• Proven experience operating a minimum of CAT 777 in a mining environment
• Proven experience operating 3 or more of the above machine types in a mining environment
• Relevant RII competencies or equivalent tickets
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening & Police clearance
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
