Burwood Tyre & Auto in Burwood seeks a full-time, trade-qualified Motor Mechanic to service and repair motor vehicles in their workshop. The role requires a minimum three years post-qualification experience and strong diagnostic skills, with English communication ability.

Salary offers AU$76,550 plus superannuation benefits. The successful candidate will work in a busy workshop environment, performing maintenance, testing, and repairs, and must be capable of working in a COVID-safe environment.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Automotive Technology or higher qualification is mandatory.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic.
• Proven experience in a busy Australian workshop environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good level of English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Discuss problems with drivers or vehicle operators to identify faults.
• Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs for proper performance.
• Tune engines using electronic equipment for smoother running.
• Repair and replace worn/defective parts and refer to service manuals.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services to ensure smoother running and pollution compliance.
• Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and EFI.
• Reassemble engines and parts after repairs.
• Detect mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components.
• Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls.
• Work in a COVID-safe environment.
