Job summary

Woollahra Tyre Garage is a busy independent workshop in Sydney's eastern suburbs, seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic focusing on diagnostics, inspections and wheel/tyre work.

You will diagnose drivability and electrical faults, perform logbook services, inspections, wheel alignments and tyre fitting, and road-test vehicles to ensure faults are resolved. Strong diagnostic tool skills and team spirit are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic.
• AIS (Authorised Inspection Scheme) licence, or willing to obtain one.
• Confident using diagnostic scan tools.
• Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose drivability, engine management and electrical faults using scan tools and manufacturer-level diagnostic software.
• Carry out logbook services and repairs on European and Asian light vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct NSW eSafety (pink slip) inspections and complete inspection reports accurately.
• Perform wheel alignments, tyre fitting and balancing, and diagnose steering and suspension wear.
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs to confirm faults are resolved.
• Write clear job notes and findings so the front office can explain the work and provide quotes to customers.
• Keep tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop area clean, safe and well maintained.

Demand for our services keeps growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to strengthen our team, with a focus on diagnostics, inspections and wheel and tyre work.

Diagnose drivability, engine management and electrical faults using scan tools and manufacturer-level diagnostic software

Carry out logbook services and repairs on European and Asian light vehicles to manufacturer specifications
