Job summary

Townhouse Hotel Wagga in Wagga Wagga, NSW seeks an experienced Chef for a full-time, ongoing role at The Oakroom Kitchen and Bar. You will plan seasonal menus, oversee kitchen operations and ensure food safety and cost control to meet quality standards.

The role requires leadership, 3+ years of chef experience, and flexibility to work weekends/evenings/holidays. Salary is competitive with long-term career opportunities in a well-established hotel and restaurant.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Demonstrated experience in menu planning, costing and kitchen supervision.
• Strong knowledge of food safety requirements and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop seasonal menus, and estimate food and labour costs.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes to menu specifications and quality standards.
• Supervise, train and coordinate cooks and kitchen hands.
• Order and manage stock, and monitor quality, wastage and cost control.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards, including HACCP procedures.
• Ensure consistency in portion control and presentation during busy services.
• Work with front-of-house and management on events, functions and menu changes.
