Responsibilities

• Plan menus and develop dishes in line with customer preferences and business needs.

• Inspect deliveries, manage stock, storage, and preservation of food products.
• Prepare, season, and cook a variety of meals to recipe and quality standards.
• Monitor quality and presentation during prep and service.
• Discuss menu and kitchen operations with management and staff.
• Demonstrate techniques and guide kitchen staff in procedures.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, including apprentices.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations.

WAGGA INVESTORS PTY LTD, trading as Commercial Hotel Junee is a historic, family-friendly country pub and accommodation venue located in the central business district of Junee, New South Wales, 2663. The Commercial Hotel is a beautiful iconic building in Junee that has a modern-day pub with friendly staff dedicated to providing you with quality service.

WAGGA INVESTORS PTY LTD, trading as Commercial Hotel Junee, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

Plan menus and develop new dishes in line with customer preferences and business requirements.

Estimate food and Labour costs, assist with kitchen budgeting, and order food supplies.

Inspect deliveries, manage stock levels, ensure the proper storage, freeze, and preservation of food products.

Prepare, season, and cook a variety of meals in accordance with recipes and quality standards.

Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes throughout all stages of preparation and service.

Discuss menu planning, food preparation and kitchen operations with management and kitchen staff.

Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide kitchen staff on food preparation procedures.

Supervise, select and train kitchen staff, including apprentices, to maintain efficient kitchen operations.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Skills:

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent qualification; and

Minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef (or equivalent experience where applicable).

Able to work overtime and during weekend and public holiday

Good communication service

Demonstrated experience in commercial kitchen operations, menu preparation and food production.

Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene requirements and kitchen procedures.

Ability to manage kitchen operations and work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Working Hours: 38 hours / per week

Work experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef (or equivalent experience where applicable).

Education/Skills

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent qualification; and
