Swimming Pool and Spa Association – Sydney CBD NSW seeks an Exhibitions Sales Executive (Business Development Manager) to own exhibitor revenue across SPASA shows. You’ll inherit a client portfolio, pursue new exhibitors, and meet sales targets for each event, reporting to the Events & Exhibitions Manager from first call to bump-out.
You’ll build campaigns, manage your CRM pipeline, and coordinate with operations to ensure smooth exhibitor onboarding and engagements.
Swimming Pool and Spa Association – Sydney CBD NSW
The role is open in four cities (Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne) , and the part-time option (up to 21 hours) suits a seasoned sales professional who wants a genuine target and portfolio without a five-day week.
SPASA runs six consumer pool and spa shows every year, plus SPLASH!, the biennial international trade expo for the industry. We need someone to sell the floor.
In this role you own exhibitor revenue across all of those shows. You'll inherit an existing client portfolio, go after new exhibitors, and be accountable for a sales target on each event. You report to our Events & Exhibitions Manager and work alongside them on planning and delivery, so exhibitors deal with one person they know from the first call through to bump-out.
Sell floor space at consumer and trade shows, against budget and on time
Run your pipeline in our CRM from first lead to signed contract, and report on it event by event
Look after exhibitors and sponsors well enough that they rebook
Pass leads to our media, membership and marketing teams, and point exhibitors to other SPASA commercial opportunities where they fit
Watch competing shows and industry trends, and use what you find to shape how we sell
Build your own sales plan and campaigns for each show
Work with our external operations partners to get exhibitor details into the event systems
2 to 3 years in sales or business development, preferably selling large-footprint exhibitions
A record of winning new business and keeping clients for years
Consultative selling: you find out what an exhibitor wants from a show and put together a package that gets them there
Solid negotiation and closing skills
Confidence with CRM systems and Microsoft 365
Good organisation, attention to detail, and a steady head when deadlines stack up
The self-motivation to work with minimal supervision, and the instinct to pull in the wider team when it helps
A qualification in sales or business development
