Job summary

Seymour Health is seeking a qualified Exercise Physiologist to join our team on a part-time contract. The successful candidate will deliver person-centred, evidence-based exercise interventions to improve health, function and independence for participants.

You will conduct assessments, prescribe programs, monitor progress and maintain documentation, working both independently and with a multidisciplinary team across homes and community locations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or equivalent.
• Current ESSA accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) required.
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, exercise prescription, program development and clinical review.
• Strong clinical reasoning, risk assessment and evidence-based exercise programming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualised exercise programs.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based exercise interventions.
• Monitor participant progress and review programs as required.
• Manage an allocated caseload independently.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with participants, families and other health professionals.

Allied Health Exercise Physiologist, Physiotherapist

We are seeking a qualified and appropriately accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our team on a a part-time contract.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to person-centred care. You will work independently and collaboratively to deliver safe, evidence-based exercise interventions that support participants to improve their health, function and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop individualised exercise programs.
• Deliver safe and evidence-based exercise interventions.
• Monitor participant progress and review programs as required.
• Apply strong clinical reasoning and risk assessment skills.
• Manage an allocated caseload independently.
• Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with participants, families, support workers, other health professionals.
• Deliver services in participant homes, community settings and other service locations where required.
• Support participants to work towards meaningful health, functional and independence outcomes.
• Maintain participant privacy, dignity, choice and control.
• Comply with safeguarding and incident-reporting requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or a recognised equivalent qualification.
• Current Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, exercise prescription, program development and clinical review.
• Strong clinical reasoning, risk assessment and evidence-based exercise programming skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Current Australian driver's licence.

Our services include a 30-bed public hospital that provides public and private Acute medical and surgical, renal dialysis and day procedures. Seymour Health’s breadth of services extends to post‑acute care, palliative care, sub‑acute ambulatory service, oral health services, district nursing and community services.Barrabill House is a 40-bed residential aged care service that provides highly rated residential aged care.
