Uniting AgeWell Limited in Victoria/Tasmania seeks an Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary team delivering services to older adults in centre-based programs, including individual and group sessions. You will assess, design and deliver evidence-based exercise programs and health education funded through My Aged Care or home care packages.

The role emphasizes enhancing client wellbeing, independence and autonomy.

Qualifications

• ESSA accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist.
• Experience in completing physical assessments and developing care plans.
• Experience running group exercise programs (strength, balance, Pilates).
• Experience in Aged Care or Community Sectors is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• High level organisational skills and computer literacy.

About the role:

As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be an integral part of our innovative multidisciplinary team. Your primary focus will be providing EP services to older adults attending our centre-based programs; including both individual and/or group based modes of delivery.

With a strong emphasis on enhancing client wellbeing, you will be responsible for assessing and delivering evidence based exercise programs and providing health education to customers funded through their package referred via My Aged Care; and to those in receipt of a home care package.

Our service focuses on clients’ strengths, is goal-directed and aims to maximise independence and autonomy. Our Exercise Physiology team is a large and supportive team with regular team meetings, one-to-one clinical supervision and support from the Clinical lead of Exercise Physiology.

The ideal candidate will be customer focused, reliable and adaptable, motivated and committed to the provision of customer centred care, and have the capacity to work well autonomously and in a team environment.

We are looking for individuals with:

• ESSA accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist
• Demonstrated experience in the completion of physical assessments, development of care plans and implementation of evidence based clinical interventions for clientele with a variety of health conditions
• Experience with running group exercise programs i.e. strength and conditioning sessions, balance groups, floor based Pilates programs (desirable)
• Experience in the Aged Care or Community Sectors (desirable)
• Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills both written and verbal
• High level organisational skills and computer literacy
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

• A current Working WithChildren Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
