Job summary

Office of the Chief Officer within the Queensland SES is seeking an experienced executive support professional to provide confidential high-level support to the Chief Officer. The role involves leading projects, coordinating sensitive briefings, and liaising with internal and external partners to advance SES strategy.

The incumbent will manage a small team, drive process improvements, and participate in on-call emergency operations as required, including travel to regional areas when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide confidential executive support and high-level advice to support informed decision making and planning.
• Prepare complex briefings, reports and submissions ensuring actions and deadlines are met.
• Lead and implement significant projects and initiatives as directed, contributing to improvement strategies.
• Liaise and negotiate on behalf of the Chief Officer to promote SES strategy and outcomes.
• Build and sustain partnerships and identify stakeholder engagement opportunities.
• Develop, implement and review executive support systems and procedures for business improvement.
• Lead and manage a small team with staff development and performance planning.
