Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solutions Architect in Sydney to lead the organization's most complex customer engagements, drive consumption strategy, and own executive relationships.

You will operate as the definitive technical authority, mentor junior SAs, and collaborate with DSAs, SSAs, Partners, and Product to deliver enterprise-grade data/AI solutions. The role requires 8+ years in senior technical roles, expert Python/SQL/Spark, and deep data architecture experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, principal engineering, or senior technical pre-sales leadership.
• Expert-level coding proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark. Live coding assessment expected.
• Deep enterprise data architecture experience: distributed systems at scale, streaming, lakehouse, governance, cloud-native platforms.
• Declared technical specialization with depth in real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, or large migrations.
• Executive presence to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical and consumption strategy for complex engagements, influencing platform adoption.
• Own senior-level technical relationships as trusted advisor on enterprise data and AI strategy.
• Lead complex architecture engagements across multi-workload platforms and migrations.
• Mentor junior SAs and contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Develop competitive strategies and position Databricks against rivals.
