Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking an experienced executive officer to sit at the centre of critical priorities, reporting to the CFO. You will connect enterprise planning, governance, performance, funding and strategic delivery into a cohesive, actionable framework.

Engaging with the CEO, Executive team, government agencies and external partners, you will drive alignment, accountability and outcomes across multiple workstreams, supporting major investment initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in an Executive Officer, Chief of Staff, strategic advisory, governance or similar role.
• Ability to build alignment and drive outcomes in complex environments.
• Experience coordinating complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy in a CFO environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive briefings and papers.
• Ability to translate complex finance/governance issues into actionable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management across executive, operational and external partners.
• Experience in government, regulated or infrastructure contexts desirable.
• Relevant qualifications in business, commerce, finance or public policy desirable.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created role sits at the centre of some of Airservices' most critical priorities.

Working closely with senior leaders across the organisation, you will help connect enterprise planning, governance, performance, funding and strategic delivery into a cohesive and actionable framework. Acting as an extension of the CFO Office, you will connect information, priorities and stakeholders from across the organisation, helping turn complexity into clear decisions, actions and outcomes.

You will engage with stakeholders from the CEO and Executive team through to business leaders, government agencies and external partners, helping drive alignment, accountability and outcomes across multiple workstreams. This includes supporting key priorities such as enterprise planning, equity assurance measures, governance activities, performance reporting and major investment initiatives.

The Finance & Strategy Group plays a critical role in shaping Airservices' future direction, performance and sustainability. The team is collaborative, high performing and committed to delivering meaningful outcomes that support the organisation's long-term success.

You are a highly organised and strategic professional who can build credibility quickly, bring people together and drive outcomes in complex environments.

You can see the bigger picture while managing competing priorities and have the judgement to know when to take ownership, when to seek direction and when to keep key stakeholders informed.

The successful applicant will have:

• Demonstrated experience in an Executive Officer, Chief of Staff, strategic advisory, governance, corporate planning or similar role.
• Proven ability to build alignment, gain stakeholder buy-in and drive outcomes in complex environments.
• Experience coordinating complex, interdependent initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with financial literacy, and the ability to operate credibly within a CFO environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of executive-level briefings, papers and presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial, regulatory, governance or operational issues into clear and actionable business outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management capability, with experience working across executive, operational and external environments.
• Experience working within government, regulated, infrastructure or commercially focused organisations will be highly regarded.
• Relevant qualifications in business, commerce, finance, public policy or a related discipline are desirable.

You bring strong commercial acumen and a practical understanding of business and financial concepts. You are comfortable engaging in discussions relating to forecasting, organisational performance, investment decisions and long-term planning, and can translate complex information into clear business outcomes. While not expected to be a technical finance specialist, you can operate credibly in a CFO environment and understand the broader business context behind key decisions.
