Job summary

Empire Group is seeking a General Manager, Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance to lead a critical governance function in Brisbane. You will provide strategic leadership across Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance, shaping frameworks and delivering independent assurance to the executive team and boards.

You will build credibility with senior stakeholders, drive risk maturity and foster a culture of accountability, integrity and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Senior governance professional with extensive experience in internal audit, risk and compliance.
• Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide governance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management with executive level engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance functions.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of governance, risk management and assurance frameworks.
• Deliver independent, objective assurance to support effective decision-making and organisational performance.
• Partner with senior executives and governance committees to provide trusted advice on strategic and operational risks.
• Drive improvements in organisational risk maturity, governance capability and compliance outcomes.
• Oversee internal audit planning, delivery, quality assurance and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead fraud and corruption control frameworks and promote a culture of integrity, accountability and ethical decision-making.
• Develop and lead a high-performing team focused on delivering enterprise-wide outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.
