Griffith University is seeking a Principal Internal Auditor to provide strategic leadership across internal audit, assurance, risk and governance functions at Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. You will lead complex, enterprise-wide reviews and advise the University Executive on governance and controls to support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading internal audit, risk and compliance reviews within a Chartered Accounting, professional services or complex organisational environment.
• Deep knowledge of contemporary internal auditing, risk management, governance frameworks and financial controls.
• Strong understanding of internal audit standards and best practice, including the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Professional membership of the IIA and/or CIA qualification will be highly regarded.
• Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and will be subject to a National criminal history check.

Responsabilités

• Work autonomously to deliver a portfolio of complex, enterprise-wide audit and assurance reviews, providing independent insights and recommendations that strengthen governance, risk management, compliance and organisational performance.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify emerging risks, evaluate internal controls and drive continuous improvement across the University's operations, systems and strategic initiatives.
• Provide expert advice on governance, risk and assurance matters, influencing decision-making and supporting the effective achievement of strategic objectives.
• Prepare and present high-quality audit reports and recommendations to senior executives and monitor the implementation of agreed actions.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the University's governance and risk frameworks, leveraging data-driven insights to improve organisational effectiveness and build capability across the institution.
