Job summary

Palm Lake Care seeks a General Manager for one of its largest Queensland communities, based in Toowoomba. You will lead the home’s clinical, hospitality and support services, oversee up to 160 staff, and partner with the Clinical Manager to deliver high-quality, person-centred care while managing budgets and improving outcomes.

Reporting to the COO, you’ll drive occupancy, safety and continuous improvement, align with Aged Care Quality Standards, and build trusted relationships with residents,

Qualifications

• At least two years in a senior management role in aged care or related health, care or hospitality setting.
• A healthcare, business or management qualification.
• Solid knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and quality assurance with strong outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and bring together multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills with residents, families, medical officers and senior leaders.
• A self-starting approach with initiative to spot problems and own solutions.
• Current C class driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the full operation of the home and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• Driving financial performance, budgeting and operational planning.
• Maintaining occupancy by guiding prospective residents and families.
• Ensuring hospitality and dining meet residents’ needs within budget.
• Leading recruitment, coaching, rostering, training and performance discussions.
• Leading audits, governance and compliance with Quality Standards.
• Building strong relationships with doctors and allied health professionals.
