Job summary

Legal Aid NSW is seeking an Executive Director, Criminal Law to lead a statewide criminal law program and the Executive Leadership Team. You will oversee delivery of high-quality services across metropolitan, regional and specialist teams, guiding strategy and reform initiatives.

You will report to the CEO and influence justice sector policy, balancing organisational performance with client-centred access to justice for NSW communities.

Qualifications

Extensive experience and recognised expertise in criminal law, including trends and reform opportunities.
Exceptional strategic leadership capabilities with the ability to shape organisational direction.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with senior government and judiciary.
Proven ability to lead organisational change, drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership of Legal Aid NSW's criminal law program across statewide teams.
Shape the future direction of the criminal law program and drive service excellence.
Lead over 300 legal and allied professionals, managing performance and outcomes.
Collaborate with government agencies, judiciary, and partners to improve access to justice.
