Employer Sponsored Jobs in Western Australia is seeking an experienced chef to join a well-established hospitality venue on a full-time basis. The role offers a four-day workweek (days only), a supportive team, and visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will craft high-quality dishes, maintain kitchen standards, and mentor junior staff. You will work in a fast-paced environment with focus on safety, efficiency, and delivering excellent dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy restaurant, café, hotel, or similar commercial kitchen.
• Relevant culinary or cookery qualification preferred.
• Experience preparing Western-style cuisine preferred.
• Previous experience as Chef/Cook/Senior Sous Chef highly regarded.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Current police clearance, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, and first aid certificate preferred.
• Must be willing to undergo random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Maintain excellent food quality and presentation across all menu items.
• Assist with menu planning and food preparation for special events.
• Monitor food costs through portion control, stock management, and waste reduction.
• Support the recruitment, training, and development of kitchen team members.
• Guide junior staff on cooking techniques and food preparation methods.
• Ensure dietary requirements and allergy requests are accurately followed.
• Promote healthy food preparation and nutritional awareness.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and safe food handling standards at all times.
