Job summary

Rockpool Residential Aged Care in Queensland is seeking an Executive Chef who will own the kitchen, lead a passionate team and design rotating menus that celebrate residents' cultural diversity. Qualifications

  • Proven experience as Head Chef or Executive Chef in aged care, healthcare or hospitality.
  • Expertise in menu development and catering for diverse dietary and cultural needs.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP and kitchen hygiene compliance.
  • Budgets, stock control and supplier relationship management.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
  • Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (essential).
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certification (essential).

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality, nutritious and culturally appropriate menus in collaboration with residents, dietitians and Hospitality Services Manager.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire a kitchen team — setting the bar high and bringing everyone with you.
  • Own food safety and HACCP compliance as the Food Safety Supervisor.
  • Manage stock, ordering, supplier relationships and kitchen budgets with efficiency and accountability.
  • Actively engage with residents and families to gather feedback and elevate the dining experience.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and genuine care.

About the role

As Executive Chef, you'll own the kitchen in every sense. You'll lead a team of passionate kitchen staff, design rotating menus that celebrate the cultural diversity of our residents, and ensure every plate that leaves your kitchen is something to be proud of.

Reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager, this is a hands‑on leadership role where your decisions make a direct difference to the daily lives of our residents.
