Job summary

Norstar Steel Recyclers in Melbourne are seeking a scrap handler operator for the day shift to support metal recycling operations. The role offers an above-award casual rate with shift loadings and overtime, with permanent placement possible after a probationary period.

Key duties include operating scrap handlers up to 100 tons, running a mobile shear, and managing other mobile equipment as required. Training will be provided to ensure competence.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times.
• Capable of functioning well in a team environment.
• Training will be provided until fully competent.
• Experience with excavators or mobile equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrap handlers up to 100 Ton.
• Operate a mobile shear and other mobile equipment.
• Assist with daily cleaning and manual handling tasks.

Excavator / Scrap Handler Operator - Metal Recycling

Norstar Steel Recyclers area well established, privately owned, market leading Victorian business that revolves around the recycling of scrap ferrous & non-ferrous metals, sourced from industrial, commercial anddomestic customers, supplying to international and domestic markets.

Currently we are seeking a scrap handler operator to fill a position on our day shift team. What's on offer is an above award casual rate, applicable shift loadings and overtime plus superannuation. Permanent placement will be on offer after a successful probationary period.

The position will require some cleaning and manual handling duties on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn other processes within the business.

Applicants with excavator experience is an advantage but all training in operation of our machinery will be provided.

• Operating a mobile Shear
• Operating other mobile equipment
