Job summary

Macmahon is seeking an experienced excavator operator to join our Surface Mining Australia team on the Tropicana site in Western Australia. You will operate large excavators and support safe production targets within a multi-shift roster.

You will work within a skilled crew on 2:1 roster, with FIFO from Perth and Kalgoorlie, contributing to a strong crew culture and safety-first approach. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators in a mining environment (CAT 6060/6040, Hitachi 5600).
• Strong safety focus and ability to speak up.
• Team mindset with reliable work ethic.
• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture.
• Roster: 2:1; day and night shifts; FIFO from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient operation of large excavator equipment.
• Complete pre-starts and report hazards or defects immediately.
• Follow plans, instructions and traffic management rules.
• Maintain a tidy work area and support safe interactions with all teams.

About the Role

You’ll work within a skilled and experienced team, operating 400 Tonne+ excavators and other mining equipment to safely meet production targets across our Surface operation at Tropicana.
