Job summary

Fetch Recruitment in Geelong, VIC, is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to support sewer installation and subdivision earthworks. You will operate excavators and other civil plant on site, excavate trenches and assist with pipe installation while maintaining safety around underground services.

The role is a temp-to-perm opportunity with up to $50 per hour plus travel, meals, super and penalties. Immediate start with reliable attendance preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven civil operating experience, ideally on sewer, drainage or subdivision projects.
• Confidence with trench excavation and working around underground services.
• Ability to pass onsite breath testing and drug and alcohol testing when required.

Fetch are partnering with a sewer contractor delivering works on a subdivision project in Geelong. We’re looking for reliable, experienced civil operators who can join the crew immediately and support ongoing sewer installation and associated earthworks.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating excavators and other civil plant across sewer and subdivision works
• Excavating trenches and assisting with sewer pipe installation
• Working safely around existing underground services
• Placing bedding material, backfilling and supporting compaction works
• Working closely with pipelayers and ground crews to achieve required levels and grades
• General earthworks and site support as required

Must have:

• Proven civil operating experience, ideally on sewer, drainage or subdivision projects
• Confidence with trench excavation and working around underground services
• Ability to work safely and communicate clearly with ground crews
• Reliable attendance and availability for an immediate start
• Relevant plant tickets/competencies and a Construction White Card
• Ability to pass onsite breath testing and drug and alcohol testing when required

Ideal candidate (not essential):

• Previous sewer reticulation or subdivision experience
• Experience working with trench shields or shoring systems
• Ability to work to laser levels and specified grades
• Experience supporting pipelaying crews
