Job summary

Southport Sharks is seeking an experienced and energetic Events Team Leader to join our Events team. This is a hands-on leadership role covering setup, service and pack down across a diverse calendar of school graduations, conferences, gala dinners, MMA events and large-scale functions.

You will lead the team on the floor, deliver food and beverage service, set expectations, coordinate with kitchen and operations, and adapt quickly to changing plans.

Qualifications

• You’ll have previous experience working in events, supported by strong Food & Beverage knowledge and a genuine interest in stepping into a leadership role.
• You’ll be organized, confident communicating with a team and happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
• Previous supervisory experience is an advantage, but this could also be the perfect opportunity for an experienced Events or F&B team member who is ready to step up and lead.

• Providing hands on Food & Beverage service alongside the team
• Setting clear expectations and keeping the team engaged during busy events

• Maintaining high standards across presentation, service, safety and guest experience
• Troubleshooting on the floor and adapting quickly when plans change

This is a hands on leadership role where no two events are the same. From school graduations and conferences to gala dinners, MMA events, major poker tournaments and large scale functions, you’ll help lead the team through the setup, service and successful delivery of a diverse events calendar.
