Kingfisher Bay Resort, on K’gari Island, is seeking an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of weddings, conferences, corporate functions and special occasions across our award-winning island resort for guests, customers and staff village.

Reporting to the Director of Food, Beverage and Retail, you will oversee the On-Island Events team and collaborate with Reservations, Sales, Marketing and Business Development to ensure events are delivered safely,

Located at Kingfisher Bay Resort, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination and successful delivery of weddings, conferences, corporate functions, group events and special occasions across our award-winning island resort for both our guests, customers and staff village.

Working closely with our Reservations, Sales, Marketing and Business Development teams, you will take ownership of the event journey once confirmed, ensuring every detail is executed seamlessly and every guest and customer enjoys an exceptional experience

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Food, Beverage and Retail, the Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of all events and functions on the Island at Kingfisher Bay Resort.

You will lead the On-Island Resort based Events team and work closely with key stakeholders across our two Island resorts to ensure every event is delivered safely, professionally and to the highest service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful planning and execution of weddings, conferences, corporate functions, educational groups and special events across both our resorts.
• Lead and develop the Events team, fostering a culture of service excellence.
• Lead Employee Engagement Events for Live-On Island staff on a regular basis
• Liaise with Key stakeholders for event logistics from handover through to completion, including venue setup, catering, accommodation, activities, transport and guest requirements.
• Act as the operational lead for major events and functions.
• Ensure strong communication and collaboration across resort departments.
• Work closely with Reservations, Sales, Marketing, Business Development teams and Operational teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Oversee event administration, documentation, function sheets and event schedules.
• Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and service delivery.
• Conduct post-event reviews and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
• Monitor team performance, engagement, training and development.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements and service standards.

This is an Island based role. You can choose to live on the Mainland and travel to the Island every day to work, or you can live On-Island at Kingfisher Bay Resort

Essential Skills and Experience you’ll bring to the role:

• You are an experienced events professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to lead a team through high-profile events while maintaining a calm and professional approach.
• Previous leadership experience in events, conferencing, hospitality or tourism
• Outstanding event planning and operational coordination skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities
• Strong stakeholder management, influence and communication skills
• Experienced leader in developing teams and building relationships
• Customer-first mindset and commitment to service excellence.
  Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and decision-making skills
• Confidence working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Current Queensland RSA and current Drivers Authority would be an advantage
