Job summary

Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District seeks a Custodial Aide to support the upkeep of the High School. The role covers afternoon shifts from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, dusting, waste management, and assisting with event setups. Prior custodial or cleaning experience is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and safety in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience in general cleaning and chemical handling preferred but not required.
• Experience in school custodial department or related field preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safety codes is useful but not mandatory.
• Willingness to learn custodial maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and preserves designated spaces and equipment to meet health standards.
• Sweeps, mop scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors as needed.
• Dusts furniture and equipment; washes windows and walls.
• Empties trash and maintains clean work areas.
• Sets up for events, moves furniture, and assists with grounds tasks as needed.
• Reports repairs and safety concerns promptly.
