Job summary

Fuji SMBE Harwal Pty Ltd in Rydalmere, NSW is seeking an Estimator to prepare and manage tenders in line with client specifications, while ensuring compliance with Australian and IEC standards. Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualifications, Trade Certificate or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings
• Proficiency with estimating software
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of switchboard design principles
• Understanding of Australian & IEC standards and Energy Authority rules
• Strong verbal and written English communication

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders in accordance with client requests and specifications
• Maintain Tender Registers with client feedback on tenders
• Ensure tenders comply with drawings, specifications, standards and local rules
• Note deviations from tender documentation in tenders
• Maintain and develop client relationships and company databases
• Prepare cost-effective, compliant conceptual designs for tender submissions
• Provide detailed project handovers to Project Controllers
• Create and maintain project and client tracking databases
• Prepare estimates for contract variations
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely manufacture of switchboards
• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing

Job description

We are seeking an Estimator to join Fuji SMBE Harwal Pty Ltd in Rydalmere, NSW. The Estimator prepares and manages tenders according to client specifications while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and documenting any deviations. Key responsibilities include maintaining Tender Registers, fostering client relationships, creating cost-effective designs, and providing detailed project handovers. Additionally, the position requires tracking project and client information, preparing estimates for contract variations, coordinating with departments for timely manufacturing, and negotiating with suppliers for optimal pricing.

Key responsibilities

Prepare tenders in accordance with client requests

Maintain the Tender Registers including client feedback on previously submitted tenders

Ensure tenders are compliant with the requirements of the client's drawings and specification, relevant Australian & IEC Standards, local Energy Authority rules and Work Cover codes of practice

Carefully note any deviation from the tender documentation in tenders

Maintain and develop good working relationships with clients and maintain the company's data base systems

Prepare conceptual designs that are cost effective and compliant with company tender submissions

Convey as much detail as possible in your project handover to the Project Controllers

Create & maintain project and client tracking databases as required

Prepare estimates for variations to contracts relating to your projects

Liaise with other departments to ensure the timely manufacture of switchboards

About you

Electrical Engineering tertiary qualifications, Trade Certificate or equal

Understanding of relevant Australian & IEC Standards and Energy Authority rules

Able to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings

Switchboard design experience

Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products

Knowledge of the Company's switchboard design principles

Proficiency with the Company's Estimating software

Ability to effectively communicate in English, verbal and written

Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities as listed
