Job summary

Service Stream is seeking an Estate Upkeep (EU) Supervisor to lead the maintenance function across the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct. This permanent, full-time role reports to the PAS Manager and is based at the Defence site in NT.

You will manage in-house staff and external contractors, issue permits-to-work, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure safety, quality, and SLA adherence. Australian citizenship and Defence clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in estate upkeep or facilities management.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and permits-to-work.
• Experience managing in-house teams and external contractors.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with maintenance management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Estate Upkeep function across designated Base Security Areas.
• Coordinate in-house staff and external contractors.
• Issue permits-to-work and ensure safety compliance.
• Conduct toolbox talks and pre-start meetings.
• Perform post-work quality inspections and audits.
• Ensure SLA adherence across areas of responsibility.
• Maintain records and reports related to estate upkeep.
• Collaborate with the PAS Base Manager to develop maintenance schedules.
• Identify and address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.

About the role

• Leading the Estate Upkeep function across the designated Base Security Areas.
• Managing and coordinating teams of in-house staff and external contractors.
• Issuing permits-to-work as required, ensuring compliance with safety and operational regulations.
• Conducting regular toolbox talks and pre-start meetings to ensure clear communication of daily tasks and safety protocols.
• Performing post-work quality inspections and audits to ensure maintenance work meets the required standards.
• Ensuring SLA requirements are both understood and met across the areas of responsibility.
• Maintaining accurate records and reports related to estate upkeep activities.
• Collaborating with the PAS Base Manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans.
• Identifying and addressing any maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identifying areas for process improvement and work collaboratively with teams to implement best practices.

About you

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within estate upkeep or similar facilities management environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and experience in issuing permits-to-work.
• Experience in managing both in-house teams and external contractors.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management systems and software.
• Relevant qualifications in facilities management, property maintenance, or a trade related field are highly desirable.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
