Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking an ESG Analyst to operationalize our ESG strategy. You will turn data into insights to drive environmental and social outcomes, reporting across emissions, energy, waste, and product lifecycle impacts.

You will collaborate across teams to collect data, validate datasets, and deliver clear, actionable insights for governance and business decisions. The role focuses on building dashboards, aligning to reporting frameworks, and improving data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Map ESG data across the organisation including emissions, energy, waste, and lifecycle data
  • Collect, validate, and analyse ESG metrics for internal and external reporting
  • Establish data collection and governance processes for accuracy and audit readiness
  • Build dashboards and visual tools showing performance across carbon, energy, waste, and lifecycle impacts
  • Prepare validated datasets for reporting and align outputs to frameworks (GRI, ISSB/IFRS, TCFD, CDP)

Job description

As an ESG Analyst, you play a hands‑on role in bringing our ESG strategy to life. You turn data into insights that help the business reduce environmental impact, strengthen social outcomes, and meet evolving regulatory requirements.

You work across teams to collect, validate, and translate data into clear reporting and practical actions. A key part of the role is shaping how we tell our ESG story by turning complex information into simple, engaging insights that demonstrate progress.

Your work spans emissions, energy, waste, and product lifecycle impacts. You help the business understand its footprint and identify opportunities to improve. Each day, you contribute to building a more sustainable and transparent organisation by strengthening how we track and communicate ESG performance.

This is a role where you are not only reporting on performance, but actively helping to improve it.

Your Purpose

Your purpose is to support the delivery of the organisation’s ESG strategy through reliable data, credible reporting, and continuous improvement.

By turning ESG data such as emissions, energy use, waste, and lifecycle impacts into clear insights, you help the business make informed decisions, meet compliance requirements, and achieve measurable sustainability outcomes.

What You Will Do
  • Map ESG Data and Insights Map ESG data across the organisation, including emissions (Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3), energy use, waste, and product lifecycle data
  • Collect, validate, and analyse ESG metrics for internal and external reporting
  • Establish consistent data collection and governance processes to support accuracy and audit readiness
  • Build dashboards and visual tools that provide clear visibility of performance across carbon, energy, waste, and lifecycle impacts
Reporting and Disclosure
  • Prepare validated datasets for internal and external reporting
  • Align data outputs to reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB or IFRS, TCFD, and CDP
  • Maintain reporting datasets and submission records
  • Ensure consistency across reporting periods
Systems and Process Improvement
  • Maintain ESG systems, dashboards, and data platforms
  • Improve processes to strengthen data quality across emissions, energy, waste, and lifecycle tracking
  • Support integration of ESG data into broader business systems and procurement processes
Compliance and Governance
  • Support compliance with sustainability and climate-related regulations, including emissions reporting.
  • Maintain strong documentation and governance practices
  • Ensure all data is evidence-based and ready for audit or regulatory review
About You

You are organized, detail focused, and proactive. You enjoy working with data and take pride in delivering accurate, high quality outcomes. You are also comfortable working with different teams and contributing to a shared goal.

  • Experience in ESG, sustainability, or a strong analytical background in finance or procurement
  • Strong data analysis skills, ideally across emissions, energy, waste, or supply chain data
  • High attention to detail and structured approach to problem solvingStrong Excel capability and exposure to Power BI or similar tools, or willingness to learn
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability metrics, including carbon accounting
  • A genuine interest in sustainability and environmental impact
  • Relevant qualifications in Sustainability, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field are desirable
Key Skills and Capabilities
  • ESG data and reporting across emissions, energy, waste, and lifecycle impacts
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, particularly in Excel and data tools
  • Understanding of carbon accounting and environmental metrics
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and practical outcomes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
Qualifications

Experience and Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, data analytics, reporting, or a related field
  • Experience working with environmental datasets is highly regarded
  • Understanding of sustainability metrics and reporting requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Data Analytics, or a related discipline
