Job summary

Morgan Consulting in Sydney is seeking a capable Financial Accountant to join our team. The role blends traditional accounting duties with ERP implementation and business systems support, focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or a similar ERP platform.

You will collaborate with Finance, Operations and IT to ensure systems and processes align with business needs, with a strong emphasis on testing, data validation and process improvement. The ideal candidate is systems-minded and detail-oriented.

Qualifications

Relevant accounting qualifications or significant accounting experience.
Experience working in a Financial Accountant or similar finance role.
Strong understanding of general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Experience with an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Pronto, TechnologyOne or a similar platform.
An understanding of ERP implementation, system upgrades or process improvement would be highly desirable.
Experience with UAT, system testing, requirements gathering or data validation would be advantageous.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
The ability to understand both finance processes and how those processes translate into an ERP system.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with Finance, IT, Operations and external consultants.
A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved and solve problems rather than simply identify them.

Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting: Support day-to-day financial accounting and finance operations.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare and review account reconciliations and financial reports.
Assist with general ledger, journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting activities.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
