Job summary

Westmead Hospital’s Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its busy, high-acuity team. You will deliver safe, timely, culturally appropriate care while working with a multidisciplinary group to support open communication and quality outcomes.

This permanent full-time role (38 hours per week) requires current AHPRA registration and recent clinical experience; the successful candidate will contribute to learning, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current authority to practice via AHPRA
• Recent relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with patients and families
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Proficient computer literacy and health information systems knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely and culturally appropriate care to patients with diverse physical and mental health needs
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Develop, document and evaluate care plans and referrals
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers and colleagues to coordinate quality care
• Support the development of junior staff and contribute to a learning environment
• Contribute to health planning, evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement
• Engage in open communication to support positive patient outcomes
