Job summary

Western Sydney Local Health District’s Mount Druitt Hospital Emergency Department seeks a Clinical Nursing Unit Manager to lead clinical care and patient flow in a fast-paced setting. You will inspire a multidisciplinary team and drive safety, quality and service excellence across the ED journey.

You will supervise nursing staff, coordinate resources, and support performance targets while championing evidence-based practice and professional development in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Post-registration qualification in emergency/critical care or nursing management required or in progress.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and implement improvement strategies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional relationships with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversee day-to-day coordination of nursing services in ED.
• Lead, coordinate and supervise nursing staff with development support.
• Monitor workforce allocation, service delivery and resource use.
• Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement and clinical safety.
• Support patient flow initiatives, audits and service reporting.
• Lead change and improvement initiatives to strengthen nursing care.
