Job summary

Pine Rivers Special School in Lawnton (north of Brisbane) is seeking a Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and the wider school community. This temporary role involves routine grounds and facilities tasks under supervision, with some independence, and is open to Expressions of Interest for up to 12 months.

Applicants should be current Queensland Government employees to be eligible, with the ability to follow

• Experience with grounds and facilities maintenance is advantageous.
• Ability to follow instructions with some independence.

• Maintain school grounds and facilities to a high standard under supervision.

Pine Rivers Special School is a co-educational Queensland state school located in Lawnton, approximately 20 kilometres north of Brisbane, catering for students from Prep to Year 12 with significant intellectual disabilities.

The school focuses on personalised learning, communication, social skills, positive behaviour and preparing students for life beyond school.

With a strong emphasis on inclusion, student wellbeing and community partnerships, the school aims to help every student develop their abilities and reach their full potential

Your opportunity:

• As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment
  of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the, Business Manager.
• You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions;
  and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives
  regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
• As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally
  require the services of a qualified tradesperson.
