Job summary

HASLIN is seeking an Environment and Sustainability Manager to lead environmental initiatives across civil infrastructure projects in NSW. Based in Sutherland or our city office, you will drive EMS development, ensure regulatory compliance and integrate sustainable practices into designs and tenders.

You will monitor performance metrics, engage stakeholders, and provide staff training to strengthen environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, preferably within the engineering sector.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Certifications in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain environmental management systems and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering and pre‑contracts teams to integrate sustainable practices into project designs and tenders.
• Monitor and report on environmental and sustainability performance metrics and progress towards goals.
• Engage with stakeholders, including local communities and regulatory bodies, to promote environmental and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide training and support to staff on environmental policies and practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to environmental sustainability.
