Job summary

Moyne Health Services in Port Fairy and surrounding Moyne Shire communities is seeking a dedicated cleaner to join our Environmental Services team. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe hospital and residential spaces in line with daily schedules and infection control policies.

You will work as part of a team, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing workloads while ensuring hygiene, safety, and responsive service to staff requests.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and follow infection control policies.
• Demonstrated flexibility and initiative in a dynamic environment.
• Good interpersonal communication and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Moyne Health Services premises in a clean, safe condition according to schedules and infection control policies.
• Clean allocated areas, respond to staff cleaning requests, and uphold hygiene standards.
• Ensure appropriate protective clothing is worn and safety signs are displayed.
• Clean hospital rooms, corridors, and residents' rooms as required; manage rubbish and waste removal.
• Perform duties as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor.

About the RoleThe primary objective of the role is to maintain the Moyne Health Services premises in a clean and safe condition in accordance with daily cleaning schedules and MHS infection control policies.*; Clean allocated areas in accordance with duty lists and periodical schedules. *; Attend to relevant staff requests in a timely manner.*; Maintain a high level of hygiene in accordance with work schedules.*; Maintain high levels of safety within the workplace by ensuring appropriate protective clothing is worn and by displaying warning signs.*; Clean, vacuum and mop common areas, hospital rooms and corridors in between.*; Clean residents' rooms - (residential)*; Removal of rubbish from internal bins.*; To collect and dispose of linen and ward waste bags.*; Carry out other duties as directed by the Environmental Services Supervisor.About You*; Ability to work in a team environment.*; Good understanding of how to use resources efficiently and effectively.*; Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload in an allotted timeframe.*; Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative.*; Knowledge of, or ability to learn general cleaning practices.*; Well-developed interpersonal skills.*; Basic computer skillsAbout MHSMoyne Health Services is a public, not for profit, integrated healthcare service that helps meet community healthcare needs in Port Fairy and surrounding districts in the Moyne Shire.
