Job summary

Moyne Health Services is seeking a senior nurse on duty to coordinate staffing, oversee clinical decision making, and lead emergency responses within our Port Fairy area. You will manage escalation pathways to ensure safe and effective patient and resident care.

The role requires substantial clinical experience, AHPRA registered nursing, and ALS certification, with strong communication and leadership abilities to guide teams through high-pressure situations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration.

• 3 years minimum clinical experience in Acute, Urgent Care or Emergency.
• NSQHS standards knowledge including safety and quality.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As the senior nurse on duty, you will coordinate staffing and skill mix, support clinical decision making, lead emergency responses, manage clinical escalation, and ensure safe, high quality care for patients and residents.

About You

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor of Nursing

Key Selection Criteria:

• Registered Nurse, with current AHPRA registration
• 3 years minimum clinical experience in Acute, Urgent Care and / or Emergency
• Current Advance Life Support (ALS) certification
• Sound understanding of the National Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standards (NSQHS)
• A good understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Statement of Rights and Aged Care Act 2024, NDIS Practice Standards and the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013
• Well-developed and contemporary clinical skills and knowledge, including the application of Infection Control practices and principles
• Sound understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement models, whilst achieving optimal outcomes
• Excellent communication (written-including report writing-and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated strong organisational and time management skills and experience in leading others
• Good comprehension of the clinical indicator reporting program
• Knowledge and experience of the Accreditation process
