Job summary

Core-EP is seeking an Environmental Field Scientist to support field programs and project delivery in Sydney, NSW. You will spend significant time on site, coordinating field investigations and collecting high quality environmental data while working with a growing multidisciplinary team.

This role requires hands-on fieldwork, independent problem solving, and the ability to contribute across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience or related discipline.
• 1-5 years of experience in a similar industry.
• Prior experience in groundwater monitoring is essential.
• Strong analytical and practical problem solving skills.
• Understanding of relevant Australian Standards and environmental legislation.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and manage competing priorities.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a mix of field based and office based tasks.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fieldwork including soil, groundwater, leachate, landfill gas, vapour, and asbestos sampling.
• Conduct site inspections, monitoring, and verification activities in accordance with technical standards.
• Collect, manage, and interpret environmental data and assist with technical reporting; coordinate field activities including subcontractor management, equipment planning, and logistics.
• Prepare safety documentation including JSAs, SWMS and field readiness plans.
• Assist senior scientists with scopes of work, fee inputs, and project documentation.
• Liaise with team members and stakeholders to deliver work safely, on time, and in line with quality requirements.
