Job summary

Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration in Western Australia seeks an experienced leader to provide specialist environmental and regulatory advice to senior executives, industry stakeholders and government agencies. You will drive best practice environmental regulation, continuous improvement and sound governance across mining activities.

You will lead a team of Environmental Officers responsible for assessment, compliance and regulation, developing capability and delivering quality

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or equivalent scientific discipline.
• Significant experience in environmental management and regulation within the resources sector.
• Proven ability to lead, develop capability and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Environmental Officers responsible for assessment, compliance and regulation of mining activities across Western Australia.
• Develop team capability and foster a high-performing culture while delivering quality environmental outcomes.
• Lead on complex regulatory matters and ensure consistent governance and enforcement where appropriate.
• Provide specialist environmental and regulatory advice to senior executives, industry stakeholders and government agencies.
