Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a dedicated environmental professional to support the assessment of environmental licence and permit applications at Brisbane Square. The role involves applying legislation and policies, advising on decisions, and contributing to sustainable outcomes for the community.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve matters, prepare recommendations and help improve permitting processes while delivering high-quality environmental services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental legislation, policies and planning principles.
• Experience applying ecological and environmental management principles in regulatory settings.
• Ability to assess licences and permits within a legislative framework.
• Strong written, verbal and customer service skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Sound problem-solving and stakeholder management; escalate complex issues appropriately.
• Well-developed research, analytical, investigative and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams under guidance.
