Job summary

BHP Group is seeking a Manager Asset Environment, Approvals & Sustainability for Copper SA, based in Adelaide. You will lead a multidisciplinary team handling environmental management, sustainability and regulatory approvals to support Copper SA’s growth and licence to operate.

You will work with government agencies, regulators and communities to navigate complex requirements, ensuring compliance while delivering value across operations and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Significant experience delivering environmental approvals, including negotiation with government on environmental conditions.
• Strong leadership across multidisciplinary, business-wide teams and capability development.
• Proven stakeholder management with regulators, government agencies and communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team responsible for environmental management, sustainability, approvals and associated activities across Copper SA.
• Oversee approvals for existing and future operations across SA and Federal jurisdictions.
• Maintain engagement with State and Federal environmental regulatory authorities to support Copper SA's sustainability and growth ambitions.
• Monitor regulatory landscape, identify trends and help the business adapt to policy and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate technical environmental studies to support major approval applications.
• Influence environmental decisions at operational and senior management levels and engage with stakeholders.
