Job summary

The Chemistry Centre within the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD seeks a Chemist to join the team at the Ecosciences Precinct in Dutton Park. You will perform chemical analyses of water, soil, plant and sediment samples using ICP-MS, ICP-OES and related technologies.

You will develop and document analytical methods, interpret results, and contribute to reports and scientific publications while maintaining quality and safety in a regulated laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or equivalent discipline.
• Experience or knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities are valued.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical analyses of water, soil, plant and sediment samples.
• Prepare samples for analysis and operate advanced analytical instruments.
• Contribute to development, evaluation and documentation of analytical methods.
• Assist with data analysis, interpretation of results and reporting.
• Support quality assurance within a NATA-accredited laboratory system.
