Job summary

Georgiou NSW Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor based in Newcastle to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of environmental requirements across NSW infrastructure projects. You will partner with project teams, clients and regulators to drive practical environmental outcomes on site.

Reporting to the Project Environmental Manager, you will manage environmental monitoring programs, assist with licensing and approvals, conduct inspections and deliver

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated environmental experience within civil construction or infrastructure projects, ideally with a principal contractor.
• Strong understanding of environmental compliance, approvals, permits and monitoring requirements.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and applicable Commonwealth and State environmental legislation.
• Experience implementing Environmental Management Plans and environmental monitoring programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice to project teams.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card.
• Experience on major roads, bridges, water, utilities or civil infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continual improvement of Project Environmental Management Plans and related systems.
• Provide practical environmental advice to project supervisors, engineers and construction teams.
• Manage environmental monitoring programs including air, noise, vibration, water quality and waste management.
• Monitor compliance with environmental licences, permits, approvals and planning conditions.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and reviews and assist with the investigation and close-out of incidents.
• Deliver toolbox talks, environmental awareness training and project communications.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, subcontractors and stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Support environmental reporting and compliance tracking requirements.
• Assist project teams in identifying environmental risks and implementing practical solutions.
